BRIGHT HORIZONS BALLSTON, ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project is a 12,000 sf commercial interior fit out located in Ballston, VA. The design converts unoccupied commercial shell space into a two level child care facility and a 4,000 sf outdoor playground with sensory gardens and age appropriate play equipment. The facility provides care for 141 children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

Children are the design basis for the project. The classroom plan incorporates food preparation stations and changing tables for infants, and child-scaled restroom facilities for older children. The design integrates child safety features derived from knowledge gained from previous Bright Horizons projects.
